The

in Durban, South Africa.
The famous pedigree have travelled from
their place of origin, Belgium, to become champions right here on our
doorstep.
The Janssen racing pigeon pedigree is one that has stood
the test of time, and has persisted in remaining the best in the
pigeon racing world. The Janssen racing pigeon history dates all the
way back to the year 1872 when the Henri Janssen was born. Together
with his family they set about creating a pedigree so pure and
classy, that over 100 years later, fanciers are still amazed by their
successes.
The Janssen brothers were so secretive about their
methods, that it’s actually impossible for anyone to find the
actual background of the breeding procedures that they used.
Mark
Raubenheimer has travelled from South Africa to Belgium, to acquire
his Janssen racing pigeons. He, together with Louis Janssen selected the perfect pigeons for himself and he has turned these
pigeons into prize-winning birds.
Having made use of only the best
conditioning and training programs, Mark was able to continue the
legacy of the Janssen racing pigeons. He has ensured that no expense
be spared in his quest for the breeding of quality racing pigeons.
Currently,
there are in excess of 80 Janssen racing pigeons that are housed in
the South African, Mount Moreland lofts. These birds with the classy
pedigree, have made their owner a proud man, and have done their bit
in the growing of the sport in South Africa. Take a look at the Racing Results Page to see the evidence!
Whilst the awareness of
pigeon racing is slowly on the rise, there is still a lot that needs
to be done to promote it. Fanciers like Mark are confident that this
sport has a solid future in our country and continue investing their
time and money into their passion.
